I'm unclear of the purpose, or nature, of your question. The two statements you posted are contradictory.

About the only home remedy I know of for simple UTI is cranberry juice. Not a blend, the real McCoy. In some markets you can get the Ocean Spray concentrated version, unsweetened. It's like Buckley's Cough Syrup in terms of how yummy it is, but it should do the trick if you have only a minor problem.

Note, though, that the acid in the juice might make things worse for you if you have some kind of inflammation or irritation that is not an infection.

This is where you seek help from maybe a urologist?

milocase, Bless you. Azo Cranberry Tablets & D-Mannose tablets (all over the counter) are what a lot of women I know use to prevent UTI's. Please check with your doctor first.

Gloaming (posted above) is correct about the REAL cranberry juice. It is a little on the tart side, but you actually can dilute it down with a little water and drink it.

Women tend to be more prone to them as they age. Our bladders weaken as we age and being more sedentary can also promote a UTI.

Also, if you get tested at the early onset of a UTI, it may give a false negative. I had that happen to me before. The doctor contacted me 48 hours later and told me the test was positive. She prescribed me with an antibiotic.

Bless you & praying for you.....

I have had recurrent UTI’s most of my adult life (79).
At first sign (pee pain) I call Dr asking for a urine culture lab test. This will verify bacteria and rx that will cure infection.
While taking antibiotic I eat yogurt with every rx dose (protects yeast from forming).
After rx treatment ends wait 1-2 weeks and ask for another urine culture lab test to determine the bacteria has been thoroughly cured.
Bottled cranberry juice is a great deterrent for UTI. I drink it 1/2 H2O + 1/2 Cranberry juice (zero sugar cranberry juice is my favorite). I drink 32oz/day.
I hope these tips help you control your recurrent UTI’s.
Note: Be aware that recurrent UTI problem can be caused by kidney stones. Urologist can evaluate your situation.

The same keeps happening to me. (71). All UTI symptoms but urine tests show negative for bacteria. They occur like every 6 months or so. I bought over the counter cystex and it helped.

I have had on and off UTI all my life. I’m 73.
What has helped me to live a normal life is Semaine over the counter. I had tried all the others with no results. This worked for me almost immediately. Certainly worth a try!
