I was also forced to take wixela in place of Advair because insurance refused to pay for Advair. The Wixela did absolutely nothing for my Asthma. It was like I was taking nothing at all. Mr dr. switched me to Trelegy Elipta. It works better than Wixela but Advair worked much better.

Tis all about the money with insurance companies and not about real people with real diseases. . Sad but very true. I have had to fight many times and even with an advocate for one of my children about a “medically necessary “ surgery for cleft lip and palate . And even then the insurance denied us saying it was cosmetic! I also find many generic brands for prescriptions aren’t as good as the name brand. Nexium was way better for me than the generic and even when my doctor wrote “ medically necessary “ they still only gave me the generic esomeprazole. Profit before people unfortunately . The only time I can honestly say insurance was helpful was with Arikayce but most likely because I had the Assistance Fund, and it was a clinical trial. Irene5

Ask for advair hfa (doesnt have a substitute ). Its puffs like albuterol
