The government lists clinical trials. You can search with a search engine.

Your medical team should help find a trial.
Look for Comprehensive Cancer Centers
Best of luck to you and your uncle.

Hi @jdj7045 welcome to our head and neck group. I agree with @eb123. Find the best help you can. Some cancers can be overly aggressive. Some patients can have underlying issues. And sometimes no matter what we do, it is never enough.
Likely there will be other thoughts and ideas within this group. In the meantime encourage your uncle to seek out a major cancer center or clinic with remarkable results.

Hello @jdj7045. This does sound like an aggressive cancer. Mine was also, starting in my ear 13 years ago. I have metastatic SCC and I have done most of my cancer treatment at Mayo Clinic, Rochester MN. Dr. Katharine Price is the Head and Neck Oncologist there and my hero. I do believe she has prolonged my life, with the help of surgeons, radiation oncologist, and other great staff. One thing that I was told is that Radiation is not equal at all facilities, and Mayo referred me to University of Michigan for a world renowned head and neck radiation oncologist there, closer to home than MN. The large cancer and referral centers will have the most up to date treatment information, and help in directing you towards clinical trials that are appropriate. I would request a referral to one that is accessible to you. Travel can be difficult for health care but it may give access to better treatment. We all want the best medical care for ourselves and our loved ones, and dealing with a specialist who only does head and neck cancer may broaden your alternatives. Even a video visit to start can help you to know if there are other things available. Good luck to your uncle.

I don’t know where your uncle is located, but from what I understand MD Anderson in Houston is the best cancer center. They have a lot of clinical trials I believe. A friend of mine went through several trials there for cancer that he had. Although he didn’t survive, they always had something new to try so you might check that out. I had my radiation and chemo through UTMB which is affiliated with MD Anderson and I had wonderful doctors. Praying for your uncle. I don’t know if that information helps but I thought I would chime in anyway.
