coidstinks2023. Hi. Were you sedated at all? I'm 79 and don't handle pain like I used to. I have some hydrocodone on hand from dental surgery and may take one to relax me. Thanks.

@fdixon63 I understand your wanting to take some medicine before the cystoscopy. As a nurse, I’d caution against doing so. You really don’t want some medication in your system that the doctor hasn’t ordered and/or doesn’t know about. I would suggest calling the doctor’s office and speaking to a nurse. You can ask her if taking the medication is ok. She can also inform the doctor and write it in your chart. What do you think the doctor might say to your request?

fdixon63, I was not sedated. I honestly can't remember if they used anytime of anesthesia in the bladder or not, it's been so long ago. I'm sorry I can't be of more help.
