I had the same procedure at Mayo Rochester on October 9 a couple weeks ago. They took 60cc of my 100cc prostate. My experience post procedure is similar to yours, although they took the foley catheter out two days after the procedure. I had 14 days of prednisone and 31 days of flomax to help with urination and swelling. So far so good. Since we both have prostate tissue remaining, I'd be interested in knowing how your PSA has settled to a new nadir and what that nadir is. You're almost a year out now from your procedure. I would be interested in knowing how you're doing. Also, how long after your procedure did you begin sluffing dead tissue? I'm just trying to get an idea what I might expect. Thanks much!

I will have to update you later on PSA, so far bouncing in 3 to 4 area, no new news on that. It is definitely higher than I would like but Dr S is not concerned since PSA was 16 before. I hope the pee is working out for you with only 2 days catheter and then prednisone, I suspect you will need the flomax (or switch to alfuzosin for a lighter/more gentle alpha blocker) for more than 31 days but maybe the prednisone really did a lot. I did about two months total of alpha blocker, some have said 6 months. There was not much dead tissue sluff after that first month if I had to say, not 100% sure I recall what and when though to give a real good account. All that stops and things go back to normal. Will update when I get more data though.
