I had preeclampsia nearly 30 years ago, and have suffered with hypertension ever since. It’s now soaring into the high 190s on occasion (age 66). Tried several meds but they make me very dizzy. Amlodipine worked well for 2 weeks, then I developed a raging panic attack and had to discontinue. Trying hawthorn berry and beet root for now. Have been referred to a cardiologist for an ECO. Anyone else in this boat? Suggestions?

Hello @clkurth, I combined your discussion with another discussion titled, "Hypertension up" - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/hypertension-up/.

@jfching, @carlissa0701, @lindaibm, @gloria242 and @pkh3381 have all discussed hypertension on Mayo Clinic Connect and may have some experiences to share with you. @clkurth, you mentioned you have been referred to a cardiologist for an Echo, has that appointment happened? If so, how did it go? If not, how are you feeling currently?
