Low Grade Adenosquamous Carcinoma. Anyone else diagnosed with this?

Looking for someone else who has been diagnosed with this type of cancer.

Michelle,
No one ever did genetic testing on me. Not sure why not.
I will be thinking about you, and I hope that your cancer has not spread.

Hi Katrina,
I got my pathology back and Lymph nodes are negative!! Woohoo!
My genetic testing also came back negative for any breast cancer gene mutations!
So both good news.
Still in recovery mode from the Sentinel Node Biopsy surgery and hopefully the soreness starts to get better soon.
I see both oncologists on Sept 7th to see what further treatment they recommend.
Thanks for thinking of me!
Hope you are doing well.

Michelle,
I am so glad that both of the tests came back negative.

@elizm I just realized that the site that you referenced does have some information regarding my cancer type. Thanks for the info.

I, too, have been diagnosed with this rare breast cancer - stage 1B low grade Adenosquamous carcinoma. I would love to know how @katrina123, @cheeta and @lilybird are doing. My bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction are next week.

I had a lumpectomy in 2020 for the Low Grade Adenosquamous metaplastic carcinoma followed by 4 weeks of radiation in one breast and so far it hasn't returned. Unfortunately, in January of 2024 I had a breast cancer lumpectomy surgery in the other breast for invasive ductal carcinoma and following surgery I had another 4 weeks of radiation. A few months later I had Moh's surgery on my face for basal cell carcinoma. Hopefully I won't have any more cancer.

Low grade adenosquamous carcinoma is a very serious cancer and I think you are doing the smart thing by having a mastectomy. I have a rare immune disease and I did not feel confident that that would be the best way for me to go.
I will be thinking of you, and I know everything will go O.K. Please keep us informed and let us know how you are doing.

Thank you @katrina123 for the update. I’m really sorry you’ve had multiple cancer challenges. None of it sounds easy.

I’m grateful for your insights.

I will post an update after my surgery.

Do you know if your genetic testing shows a CHEK2 mutation ? I was diagnosed with LGASC in 2023 and at that time, was told my genetic testing came back negative but at my last oncology appointment my doc said that I have the CHEK 2 mutation and it has been linked to breast, prostate and colon cancers.
With LGASC being so rare, I am still trying to find similarities with others who have had it.
Thanks!

Hi @mchler73 - yes, I do have the CHEK2 mutation (heterozygous). That is really amazing that you have it, too.

@mchler73 - I definitely am not qualified to have an informed opinion on this! However, it is interesting that those two data points align for us both. I will definitely let my oncologist know! My bilateral mastectomy/reconstruction is this coming Wednesday.
