@4deborahrb

Thank you for your response. Everyone seems to know a lot on this message board! My surgeon recommended I start either Tymlos, Forteo or Evenity for 6 months, however the Endocrinologist managed the drug. We both had concerns about increased blood calcium levels on Tymlos since I had a parathyroidectomy 10 yrs ago but have been normal since then. My blood calcium did go up to the edge of normal range but it was the side effects that made me stop. The surgeon would be happier if I tried Evenity-( Reclast never mentioned) but again I am wary of the side effects I read about- like joint pain and cardiovascular effects. I’ve asked my cardiologist if he has any comments. Thank you for your comments.

@4deborahrb I have a heart condition and did Evenity anyway (at least for awhile, I stopped for other reasons). I consulted two cardiologists and they didn't know anything about it, honest. One just googled!

The ARCH and FRAME studies are behind the cardiovascular warning for Evenity. One study showed no difference in risk for heart/stroke between Evenity and placebo and one study showed a small but statistically significant difference with alendronate (Fosamax) but it has been suggested that might be because alendronate has a slight positive effect.

If you do consult a cardiologist maybe they can google those studies!
