There is a new mask that works great and you do not have to worry about your mouth opening. It is fits over your mouth but under your nose. I love it. Best mask I've ever used.

Does the mask you use to keep your mouth shut have a name? I use a strap around my head. It works pretty good but I need to make it very tight. <br>

I use the full face mask (covers nose and mouth). I've managed to wear out the strap and have to fuss with it each night. I get C-PAP supplies at the MAYO Home Store in Eau Claire, WI. I have some leakage, but mostly I manage to pull the hose out as I roll around during sleep. I wake up to the sound of air blowing at me. Overall I'd say few frustrations and much to be happy about.

COULD YOU GIVE ME THE NAME OF THE NEW MASK AND WHO MAKES IT

HI @flor
The mask is made by Philips Respironics and it is the Amara Vuiew Mask. This particular mask rests under the nose and over the mouth.
I tagged you on my other link to a picture of the mask.

Hope this helps.

Hi @ dawn, Where did you get that type of mask? That sounds great! How long have you had it. I could be interested in that one! I just had my 3rd in hospital test. Now I will have a mask over the nose only, but I am a mouth breather and that showed up on the video that the doctor will receive. I don't know what he will do. If only I could "keep my mouth shut"! I open my mouth some I use the tapeing method an nasal pillows I'm clatraphobic so I cant wear any type of mask an chin srraps hurt me an breaks ny skin out

You can get a chin strap at your supplier where you get your face mask. A chin strap goes over your head and under your chin to keep your mouth closed. It does not work for me though as I am overweight and have a big double chin that causes the chin strap to just slide off. If you do not have a double chin this may very well work for you.

My hospital based DME provider but most Durable Medical Equipment providers have The Phillip products. They are the most used in sleep apnea patients.

I have had mine about a year now. I LOVE mine. I have tried about 5 others with much discomfort and leaks. Now I have an occasional 1 % leakage whet before I was at 50% nightly.

Mouth breathers will definitely love the comfort!!!
