Senile purpura bruises and treatment options
I ( and a friend or 2) love gardening. Even with wearing long sleeves while working outside, (today it was about 76 degrees by 8 AM here), I still get poked or scratched. The resulting bleeds and the bruises are way out of proportion to the cause. Anybody have a good suggestion how to cover up some of the bruises on my lower arms (elbow to wrist) so I don’t look so abused when going out in public? Meaning, make-up tricks. Tomorrow it will be around 94 degrees again here, so long sleeves out and about are not what I want to wear going forward.

my dr in practice 50 years said to wear long sleeves. was he being funny? I don't bruise as much when I am down 20 lbs
My dermatologist told me to get Dermablend makeup that covers tattoos. It comes in many colors and stays on a couple of days. It will not get on your clothes when dry. It has to be removed with a makeup remover. Ulta has it and lets you try the makeup until you are satisfied with the shade. I also bought it on Amazon. It works well.
@kforrest I think your doctor was being serious. I do wear long sleeves but they don't always protect from purpura. IF you look online arm protectors are sold for this purpose!
covering the bruises not protecting arms from getting them.
They no longer say senile purpura. It’s now solar purpura. No one likes the term senile. The Dermablend makeup my doctor recommended has an SPF sun block. They have no other remedy. I was told to wear protective sleeves when golfing. Amazon has them.
@yellowfinch mine have nothing to do with the sun. Is yours sun related?
The doctor said it was, hence solar. The skin is thin on my legs & the sun makes it worse. I was told to wear protective sleeves to keep the sun off.
