Does anyone wake up daily at 3am?

I have problems falling sleep. I haven’t able to have good night sleep as fatas I can remember. Went I finally fell sleep I have broken sleep pattern, and I wake up every night at 3am, I do not know why and I cannot fall sleep again, sometimes I go back to sleep at 6am. I do not feel refreshed in the morning. I have black circle under my eyes from the lack of sleep. Also feel irritated, sad, and brain fog/forgetful from lack of sleep. This is terrible. Any one have similar issues. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

You need .50 to 1 mg probably to help you sleep.

I was on .5 mg for 6 years. Then tapered down to .25.

Hi, I take Lorazepam now. Was on Ambien (for sleep) and Diazepam--valium (for anxiety) but when I wanted to stop taking the Ambien, I tried multiple different sleep meds and nothing worked. So my doctor finally said, why don't we prescribe you 1 medication that will help both my issues (sleep and anxiety). I said that would be great! So that's when I stopped the Ambien and Diazepam and started taking Lorazepam. Lorazepam is great for sleep and anxiety issues. And most doctors do not like to prescribe benzodiazepines meds, but since your doctor already has you on Klonopin, you should be able to quit the Ambien and the Klonopin and just take Lorazepam. I'm prescribed 1.5mg per day. And usually use the whole amount at night (1mg at bedtime and .5 when I wake up in the middle of night to go to bathroom). But if I need it during the day, I take what I need during day (either .5mg or sometimes 1mg) and use the rest at night. Maybe your doctor would give you 2mg per day for both issues, since you are currently taking Klonopin for anxiety. Good luck!

I have the same problem. Trouble going to sleep and then wake up after 2-3,hours. Can’t go back to sleep. Trying to break habit of 8oz of wine at 3:00. And that has quit working. Before bed I take .25 Ativan.
I did try Lunesta. ( did not take Ativan while on Lunesta). With Lunesta I still woke up several times and during the day I felt horrible. Almost suicidal
It has been suggested that I try cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia. CBT-I
Hope this works. I will try almost anything.

Try over the counter Unisom, with ingredient doxylamine succinate. It works pretty good.

I wake up around 3:00 and go downstairs to grab c cup of coffee. If you are willing to take medication I use Seroquel. At least 5 hours sleep. Just a thought. Some people can’t take seroquel . Get a psychiatrist.

I have taken one 25 tablet of Amitriptyline for about 3 years. It is a tricyclic antidepressant and serves the purpose of getting and staying asleep. It is also good for pain. I used to have nerve pain from a root canal.
