Does anyone wake up daily at 3am?
I have problems falling sleep. I haven’t able to have good night sleep as fatas I can remember. Went I finally fell sleep I have broken sleep pattern, and I wake up every night at 3am, I do not know why and I cannot fall sleep again, sometimes I go back to sleep at 6am. I do not feel refreshed in the morning. I have black circle under my eyes from the lack of sleep. Also feel irritated, sad, and brain fog/forgetful from lack of sleep. This is terrible. Any one have similar issues. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

I wake at this hour as well but find that eating a small yogurt or half of a banana will get me back to sleep.
Nocturnal hypoglycemia can affect people who:
Skip meals, particularly dinner
Exercise before bedtime
Drink alcohol before bedtime
Have infections
I wake frequently at 4 am. The only OTC product that has helped is CBD tincture taken under the tongue at bedtime.
If you live in a state that allows CBD stores, go to the most reputable one and see what the manager suggests.
rozy288, it may be the Ambien giving you crappy sleep. That's what it did to me.... it would wake me up after a few hours and I would have to take more. It was awful... never got good sleep unless I took .5mg everytime I woke up.....and even then, it wasn't good quality sleep because it was interrupted sleep. That's not how a good sleep medication should work. I switched to something else and now sleep very good. Good luck.
livelifetothefullest, Have you tried prescription sleep meds? I would encourage you to do so... sleep is waaaaay too important! And if you don't get good sleep, your health will suffer. Also, an herbal tea may help. I like Sleepytime tea. There are many varieties. I also sleep with a fan running. It helps. Good luck.
Not everyone who has sleep issues needs to see a psychiatrist. Plus they are very expensive. I, myself, would not feel well getting only 5 hours of sleep. Over the counter sleep aids can help.
scottbeammeup, you should NOT give up on getting good quality sleep! Ask your doctor for a sleep medication....and don't stop asking until you find one that works! Maybe a higher dose of Lunesta? Or there are other sleep meds you can try thru your doctor. Or there are over the counter meds, like Benadryl...(walmart has a sleep aid pill that is the exact same ingredient and mg. as benadryl) Unisom is another one you can get over the counter. Don't give up! Sleep is way too important and affects your overall health! Good Luck!
I have the same problem. Trouble going to sleep and then wake up after 2-3,hours. Can’t go back to sleep. Trying to break habit of 8oz of wine at 3:00. And that has quit working. Before bed I take .25 Ativan.
I did try Lunesta. ( did not take Ativan while on Lunesta). With Lunesta I still woke up several times and during the day I felt horrible. Almost suicidal
It has been suggested that I try cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia. CBT-I
Hope this works. I will try almost anything.
I have I tried Lunesta 2 mg but same thing abd it tastes so bitter in your mouth for so long after you swallow it .
What do you take now ?
I also have Klonipin for anxiety. I’ve tried to take at night but I’ve been on it long time low doses . Doesn’t keep me asleep.
I usually take it in day for the anxiety.
Cortisol dysfunction can also wake u at 3 AM.
