Almost finished week 5 of 7 chemo/radiation, encouraging!

Saw radiation onc today, he is happy with the tumor shrinkage (Base of Tongue Cancer) he is seeing on the scans, that made me even happier 😬 Have gone from 178 to 166, regarded as within acceptable parameters. IMHO, to anyone who wonders: get a feeding tube!! I am taking no food by mouth whatsoever, and swallowing is painful but not excruciating. I could not have done this without the tube and my boxes of Kate Farms. Great stuff. Stay fed and hydrated! I have found tonic water to be enormously helpful in clearing phlegm. Take your Zofran, take your Norco, get magic mouthwash and use it. Look at cooking magazines, dream of all the good stuff you get to eat after you’ve recovered 😁

Keep on this course, as hard as it is sometimes. It's good to hear about the progress. The tumor should continue to shrink for months afterwards. You will be invincible after all of this.

Great advice on the food tube. I got one, too and it made all the difference. Good nutrition speeds healing.
