I'm cross-posting this to the post/long COVID group since others there have posted post-COVID neuropathy. One day those of us w/ post-COVID will be understood and they'll find prevention or help. https://www.yalemedicine.org/news/when-nerve-pain-and-numbness-are-linked-to-long-covid

@jeindc

I get pedicures when I can - usually every 6-8 weeks. BUT because of the damaged skin from COVID, I have to be cautious of what is done.

Yeah. That stuff they use can burn and hurt. Plus can get infected. We are all a mess!!

I have post COVID neuropathy in my feet. My doctor prescribed infusions of gamma gard (gamma globulin), which I am in the process of completing. After maybe 8 or 9 infusions I started tell a difference. I have had maybe 22 or so infusions and most of my neuropathy has gone away. It has not improved my dizziness or balance, but my feet are much better.

That’s wild. Eating does the opposite for me. It suppresses it for a few hours for me before the tidal wave begins. Problem is my IBS only allows for one meal a day around 10:30am because it takes me nearly 12 hours to digest that or at least feel like that. I’ll throw in one more discovery in this process. I’ve had constipation issues my whole life. Always told to get a colonoscopy. Nothing ever came back wrong. I started getting B12 shots at the beginning of my neuropathy symptoms and my constipation has improved significantly. I’m about 52 now and have seen docs for constipation for 30+ years. Not one ever mentioned B12 as a solution. But Linzess and all the other bullshit RXs they were all in. Hard not to be jaded

I also have IBS-C that was in remission until my covid came back a year later. I only eat around 5. When I put any food in me, the rumbling begins and with constipation, comes the pressure. I end up using a Fleet glycerin suppository. IBGuard helps calm the symptoms and it’s over the counter. I have lost 10 pounds and most doctors want to discuss my weight. I too, am not happy with the prescriptions recommended. Amitriptyline helps with nerve pain.

I’m not aware of those infusions. I will google. For my dizziness (Vertigo only) I take a type of Dramamine. The other dizzy from walking and SOB, I don’t have an answer for unfortunately. 😞

In less than two weeks I have the colonoscopy and endoscopy. Hopefully they will find out something to explain all those issues in those areas. They have me on some opioids that make you constipated. Along with IBS/C and D. I really want off some of these drugs. 19 of them. You would think I was 90 not 56. Or maybe dying? Guess none of us that yet, just feel like it.

I didn’t know Dramamine helped with vertigo. I know it’s been incredibly effective for car sickness for me in the past. I always have some. I may try it to see if it helps with my shit balance. I don’t have Vertigo but I’m at the point where I will try anything including the new suicide pods once they are available for individual purchase. LOL

I know it seems like I’m psychotic as I’ve seemingly responded to all your posts but I’m not. Your posts have resonated with me. I’ve had IBS way longer than Covid. I don’t want to ramble here so I am going to try and bullet point
1) I’ve been told by the medical community that opiods won’t touch nerve pain which I never believed but I never pressed because I knew I would be trading one disaster for another as my stomach can’t handle them.
2). Obviously this is my experience and I’m not a doctor but NO ONE INCLUDING ANY DOCTOR for 3 decades ever said B12 could help my severe constipation. I have been on B12 shots with the other needed supplements for 3 years as a remedy for neuropathy. It’s done nothing for my neuropathy but my constipation has improved significantly. Don’t know if oral would have helped me as I’ve only had B12 shots.

Anyway just sharing my journey in the hopes someone can get any relief from something in any area

You got me cracking up. I live on humor. Especially with some sarcasm thrown in. I was prescribed a prescription strength of Dramamine for Vertigo. She said if I run out use regular Dramamine. I think the active ingredient is the same. You would think, dizzy is dizzy. We all fall down. (Ring around the Rosie if you didn’t get that, haha). Are there really suicide pods?? 🥴. I know there are some crazies out there eating my Tide Pods I had to get from behind the register. WTH. Tide Pods?? Doesn’t sound like a good time to me. Anywho, really on those Pods????

Suicide pods are absolutely real and I only know this because I’ve had mental illness way longer than physical. First person ever to use one was last week. Worked perfectly according to the witness. But then they arrested the creator. Can’t be cutting into Pfizer’s business I guess. I’m almost 52 going on 300 which was another thing you said that I say all the time when I look in the mirror. I’ve also said I can’t believe a condition like this could exist with so much pain and have no remedy yet not label me terminal. I could eat Tide Pods I suppose but I think Gain Flings would provide the coroner with a much needed fragrance boost

Nah, I don’t think you are a stalker. Enjoy the conversation and point of view. Let’s all suffer together. Plus need a good giggle out loud. The opioid I take is a baby one. It wasn’t even considered to be one until last few years. Tramadol 50mg. Gabapentin wasn’t working so I’m trying this for my spine pain. I have degenerative disc disease, arthritis, bulging disc and a cyst on my spine. Plus sciatica. Then two hips with bursitis and two knees bone on bone arthritis with torn meniscus in each, left add sprained ACL and a large ganglion cyst in there somewhere. Hurts like hell to walk, especially adding the PEM to it. Really, suicide Pods? 🤔
