Rapamycin for Polymyalgia Rheumatica?

Has anyone had experience using Rapamycin for PMR?

How do you hope Rapamycin might help with PMR? I only found a couple of small scale experiments with Rapamycin/Sirolimus for arthritis and the results are confusing. Small improvements in arthritis symptoms while taking Sirolimus included a decrease in methotrexate and other steroid sparing drugs but a small increase in prednisone dose. On the other hand, the control group made a steady reduction in prednisone dose. If you have any studies of its effectiveness in PMR treatment, I'd be interested to see them.

I was hoping someone might have tried rapamycin as a down-regulator to help decrease/discontinue the need for prednisone. No one knows the cause of PMR. I bet there are other old drugs which can be repurposed as treatment.
