Starting TRT now.

I'm 75 now. My prostate was removed in 2021. The cancer spread to my T3 vertebrae. That was treated with radiation. I was put on Lupron for 2 years. After 15 months of being OFF of Lupron I still have mild hot flashes. My problem is leg fatigue and weakness. I have remained active by lifting weights and walking 4-5 days a week. I walk at least 3.5 miles. I play golf once a week. My testosterone level was 450 before my prostate was removed. After 2 years of Lupron my T level was 11.

I asked my urologist about TRT, as I'm having so much leg fatigue. When I walk, it's like walking in cement. We thought since my PSA has been at < 0.04 for almost 2.5 years that I could try TRT. I had my T level blood test, the level a few weeks ago was 160 (still low T). I'm injecting Testosterone CYP 2 once a week for 4 weeks. The dose is 0.5 ml. I'm on my second week.

Have any of you suffered from fatigue in your legs? If yes, what did you do?

Many people have fatigue due to Lupron sometimes it’s severe. As you’ve noticed your testosterone is not recovering, which is common with people who are in their 70s and beyond. The amount of fatigue varies from person to person. With very low testosterone, fatigue is very common, though not everybody gets it.

Make sure you get PSA tests every month while injecting testosterone, and even for a while after, you don’t want the cancer to come back As long as you’ve had such a low PSA for so long you may be safe to do it.

What’s your testosterone gets to the 300-400 level you’ll probably have less fatigue in your legs.
