Oxylates & inflammation

Has anyone heard anything about oxylates and inflammation? I have been reading about and I am curious about others experience.

I'm on a low oxalate diet for over a year and a half (as well as low carb, low lectin, gluten-free, no processed foods or food additives). High oxalates affect some of us more than others. Oxalates combine with calcium and can cause calcium oxalate stones in the kidney or calcium oxalate buildup near joints and in soft tissue, causing pain. I don't know how much benefit this has for me, but my kidneys and liver are functioning well - one less thing to worry about. Lists of high and medium oxalate foods to avoid can be found at kidney foundation websites.

When I was at the height of my PMR issues, i cut oxylate containing foods from my diet, as part of a strict anti-inflammatory diet. It's pretty easy to substitute for low oxalate foods. Over time it became too restrictive and I found I was needing too many supplements which came with their own problems. The best diet for me is gluten free, with a wide variety of plants, lots of protein and no processed food. I have needed plenty of protein due to the severe muscle wasting caused by inflammation and steroids. Thankfully it all seems to be improving for the most part. Steroids down to 3mg per day this week, have cut back on Plaquinil to 200mg per day, dizzyness and brain fog reduced considerably, strength improved considerably from 6 months ago. Im not getting too excited because every time I see an end to the misery, the gremlins reminds me they are there !!!
