Phlegm in my throat and post nasal drip after Covid
Ever since I had covid in January of 2022 I recovered from the virus but I was left with a constant phlegm in the back of my throat and post nasal drip that will not go away. The feeling of having mucus in the back of my throat actually gets worse when I try to get rid of it by coughing. I have been given steroid inhalers, albuterol, allergy medication, but none of these work. The mucus gets worse especially after I eat. I've never felt like this before and it all started after covid. Can anybody relate to what I am going through?

There is a possibility I may be able convince my pulmonologist to do a trial of digoxin off label. I'll update in a few months if so.
It does seem to work better - keeps nasal passages clear longer and does better at clearing slime off throat. Snot is easier to swallow without getting stuck in my throat. I kind of suck it up and over onto the top of my throat then cough all that out - which is weird but seems to work. This isn't a cure-all but definitely something to have in the arsenal.
I’m sorry to respond so late after you posted this. I just now saw it. I’ve never had anything like this. I have to keep a bottle close by to spit out the phlegm . Some days it’s just horrible. It almost feels like a big rubber band at times when I try to spit it out. I’ve never seen anything like it. Have you found any relief?
I have horrible issues with the thick mucus, in my throat and chest. It has truly worn me out for the 5 years since Covid and the vaccine. I had Covid right after the vaccine so don’t know which caused the worst symptoms but I’ve never had anything like it. I’ve had pneumonia 3 times since Covid/vaccine. Had to be hospitalized. I was terribly ill. I just got home from hospital 3 days ago. Was sickest I’ve ever been.
Also adding to this post my reference for sodium ascorbate activating cftr since I didn't include that. I do about 1.5 teaspoons sodium ascorbate in 8 oz of distilled water along WITH neti salt for neti pot. Does seem to clear mucus better than with neti salt alone.
(Sodium ascorbate is just basically pH buffered vitamin c so it isn't super acidic and painful)

What is sodium ascorbate and where do you buy it? Also, Neti salt?
Sorry, I just saw your definition of sodium as corbate? Is it in health food stores? Are there any fears of using it? I can tell you’ve done your homework?
Any idea why it works better than neti salt alone?
I’ve been given cough pills, inhalers, decongestants, and nothing helps except for the 15 I was in the clinal test taking paxlovid. A few days after it ended, all these symptoms returned. I’m seeing a pnemologist next week for a return visit. My expectations are low. I keep a roll of toilet paper on my bedside table and have a pile of gross phlegm wads on the floor in the morning. I was given breathing treatment at the ER recently. Didn’t do much for me.
My thoughts also.
Certainly, educated medical professionals have considered this theory. Lol. Right?
There are glands in the neck that produce mucous which I think never went back into normal mode after the virus. I bet the pros don't actually have a remedy at this time.
