Anyone on Orgovyx have a raging appetite?

I'm about two months in on Orgovyx and have dealt with the hunger issue. I'm a skinny little guy so a few pounds gained would be no biggie. Regardless, I still haven't gained any weight. By the way, I won't arm wrestle you for the liverwurst.

Interesting. It's been the opposite for me. My appetite has been gone. I think maybe that has more to do with radiation than Orgovyx, though, because it's starting to come back.

ADT is infamous for causing weight gain in many people. Seems you may have found why. I never noticed extra hunger when I started on Orgovyx. I know many people that come into the weekly prostate cancer chats I attend reporting they gained weight after taking ADT including Lupron, Orgovyx or Eligard.

That was my biggest fear but so far just 2 lbs - maybe. All the exercise definitely helps. I think it might have something to do with the lower fiber/gas diet.
Fiber is well known to increase satiety and these processed crackers and cereals just don’t cut it. In fact, they’ve always linked our obesity epidemic to poor food choices and low fiber so maybe it’s more that than anything else.
But of course feminizing hormones do produce more fat and water retention. The ‘no antibiotic, no hormones ever’ Purdue chicken thighs in my supermarket are more emu-sized than any chicken I’ve ever seen.

I lost my appetite after debulking surgery to the tumour on my spine, and it took months to come back.

I am mindful of my weight, but I count having a strong, healthy appetite again as one of my biggest blessings. If ADT is contributing to that, then more power to it!

Beginning 4th month of ORGOVYX.
I have likely experienced all side effects at one time or another, with constant hot flashes the worst.
Gained 15 lbs in 90 days.
To eat anymore, I would have to skip sleep!
I've opened up a can of lima beans at 3am!

I keep track of my weight daily and looked back and saw that for the first month that I was on ORGOVYX my weight went up about 6 pounds. I remember eating like a horse And craving something sweet. My appetite plummeted during and after radiation and when it came back, it was only 1/2 of what it used to be when I was “healthy”. I think I’m at my ideal weight again and that’s a good thing.

Yes!! I DESPISE lima beans! But since you’ve mentioned them I feel like eating them right now…followed by an entire Entenmann’s Pecan Danish Ring…
Perhaps as robertmizek has said, radiation will cut my appetite but I know it won’t be in a good way…

Entenmann's Danish anything is much preferred as compared to lima beans, but at 3am, all bets are off !

Since 2024-04-28 I have been on Eligard, since 2024-0604 on Erleada+Eligard and since 2024-09-30 on Eligard+Erleada+Orgovyx. The Eligard was by injection and will begin to lose effectiveness on 2024-10-28 so the Med Onc put me on Orgovyx for logistical efficiency. I am in the moderate loss of appetite camp. I now view eating as part of my daily meds.
