Danny, you might try a stellate ganglion block.
Sometime the meds make things more difficult to untangle.

It sounds like paroxetine is not the medication for you, although sometimes your body will adjust.
Best wishes
Hello, I have been battling with sickness for sometime , one thing I realized today is that when I get direct air in my direction my body feels better what does this mean
There are various treatment options available. Did they rule out any medical conditions ?
You might discuss it with your doctor. I don’t have panic attacks anymore, but see a therapist regularly for anxiety. I also have a prescription for meds, if I decide to go that route.
Years ago, before I knew I had anxiety, I had several panic attacks. Ended up in the ER. Doctor diagnosed them as panic attacks but suggested I get full cardiac evaluation, since with my panic attacks I thought I was dying. After being cleared, I read everything I could about panic attacks, biographies by celebrities who have them, medical articles, etc. I learned that they would not hurt me. I learned to talk myself out of them, keeping my medication in my purse, just in case. I gradually delayed the time to take the med, until I no longer needed the med. (Xanax). It was more of a placebo effect really.
Imo, developing an internal dialogue that can soothe your mind and body is helpful. Some people do meditation, relaxation techniques, etc.
I wish you luck…panic attacks are scary and unless you’ve experienced one, you can’t understand how they feel. Take care.
@danny24 Did you have panic attacks before you started on paroxetine? Or did the panic attacks occur after starting the med?
I was prescribed paroxetine several years ago. I experienced an increase in anxiety for a few day during the adjustment period of the medication. I called my doctor and he prescribed a very short course of Ativan (just for a few days) to get me through the adjustment period. That helped me and the anxiety then decreased to the point where I became more comfortable.
What you describe as heat waves and that come and go throughout your body might be the adrenaline that is released when your anxiety goes up. Some people feel that adrenaline intensely.
At this point I think it's best if you contact the doctor who prescribed the paroxetine and discuss all this. Don't stop the medication on your own until you talk with your doctor. Hopefully the doctor can make suggestions and help you with the adjustment on this new medication.
Talk to your doctor about stopping the Rx, to see of you feel better, maybe the medicine does not agree with you.
