Welcome @jones1959, This is a scary time for anyone. Try to focus on what you know. There is something suspicious in your lung and your doctors are taking the appropriate steps. Today, we don't know that it's cancer. The PET results will be one piece of the puzzle, and additional tests may be ordered to help fill in more of the puzzle. Any diagnosis process can take time, so be prepared to hurry up and wait. Was the nodule/mass found on a routine lung screening exam? Was this your first CT?

I was just going over what I said earlier and then it dawned on me, I sounded entirely negative and that’s not what I wanted to make you feel…I totally agree with Lisa, nothing has been determined yet so please accept my apology for getting carried away. I sincerely hope that everything will work out well for you and just to add that there’s so much progress going and people are benefiting greatly from this, I keep telling myself that daily just to try and stay positive.

No. Back in 2019 doctor ordered a CT scan because of coughing and I smoked for years. Now in2024 , I cough a lot. Quit smoking after over 53 years of smoking, and coughing has gotten worse. I have been quit for 13 months. Then pet scan done. Waiting for results. Thanks.
