Depression & grief

Posted by foxynatalia @foxynatalia, Aug 21 4:24pm

My cousin just lost his battle with esophageal cancer . It took him in less than a year . I was there with him as much as I could have been . I’m so sad death has never hit me like this , maybe because he was so young. Maybe because he fought so hard and was so scared. My heart is broken. I can’t seem to find happiness in my day .

I understand your grief, I lost my son a month ago, I've been devastated, can't talk to anyone on the phone without crying, so sad,, I lean on my husband for support, and pray alot , it is very difficult as I'm having health problems. Just trying to keep the Faith, I will also keep you in prayer, God Bless and may you find peace and comfort.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I have empathy for you with the loss of my wife. I have gone from grief to joy. It’s been a journey. I took a GriefShare class, which certainly helped. Look forward and seek help and you will benefit from it.

GriefShare is an organization that helps people who have lost a loved one. Classes meet for two hours, once a week for 14 weeks. There is also a workbook and some homework. Classes are offered all over the U.S. Here a link. For you https://www.griefshare.org/findagroup
I found the classes, “A Journey from Grief to Joy” very helpful. I believe you will too!

I lost my wife 2 1/2 years ago. We had been married for 49 years. She passed away suddenly in our home. After lunch, she told me she was going to take nap, nothing unusual. An hour later, while in my living room my wife called me. She told me to come; I was concerned because her speech was slurred I called 911. They came and took her to Emergency Services at our hospital. I drove separately and arrived shortly afterwards. After a short wait, I was escorted in a room and informed my wife had a massive stroke, was unconscious and likely wouldn’t cover. She was kept on a ventilator until my family members came. Unfortunately, she passed away when the hospital decided to remove it.
Two months before, she had a minor stroke. She knew the risks of another stroke were high. While she tried to prevent another stroke, it happened.
Coincidentally, two months before I was at the Mayo Clinic for prostate cancer surgery. My surgery went great. I’ve recover; however, it’s been a long process. I’m grateful I’m doing well and look forward to each day.
This is the story of my loss and prostate cancer surgery at the Phoenix Mayo Clinic. Thanks for asking.
