Long lasting hematoma on buttock
Hi I fell down wood stairs almost 1 year ago, I had a horrible bruise, severe swelling on my right buttock. The swelling went down but the hematoma remained with a small bruise that is a half circle around the bottom of the hematoma. My concern is it’s has stayed this size for months. I’m wondering if this is permanent. Has this type of injury happened to anyone else?

I have the same situation. I fell about 20 years ago, with a massive bruise on my left gluteus Maximus. The bruise took a month to fade but I was left with a lump in that area. I never really was concerned about it. It doesn’t cause pain. 🤷
I fell on my coccyx (tailbone) and it hurt for a year about. I had to sit crooked because my flanks were ok but I couldn’t sit straight for hours. I thought I may have cracked it but I never had it checked. I’m somewhat ok now but it was difficult to sit up straight for a year it’s ok now but bothers me just maybe once a month. It’s not painful unless I sit on it. I still have it.
No I haven’t but it may be a good idea.
About 30 years ago, I had a nasty bruise from a fall I got while skiing.
It took months to heal and was very tender for another few months.
But it did clear up.
When I had a stroke in 2018, I fell off a front porch and landed hard on my right side. Same story -- big bruise on my right side. I was too preoccupied with the stroke to notice it for a while. It, too, cleared up eventually. I wish my stroke recovery had gone as well.
I had the exact same scenario. Fell down a flight of stairs and now left with a lump (indent) years later. I've had consults but it's not an easy fix
Hi, @pkoss1
xxxxxxxxx FALLING DOWN xxxxxxxxxxx
You feel down on your wood stairs - hey, that’s me, too 🙂 and the same feeling in my rear-ends (that word is easier than hema… word). According that word “hems…” is different, but close, bruise. And I did the inside blood, but not outside blood.
xxxxxxxxxx HOW LONG? xxxxxxxxx
Yours 1 year; I was the 2 years. I feel down in my garage of the wooden steps. It hurt - really hurt, but 2 weeks over I went to my family doctor. I didn’t show the blood looks in my rear-ends…. I wish I had… according to him, I sent to a pain meds, but it was lousy… the pain, from the top to my bottom feet, it got worse… little walking, no more cutting our grass, no more turning the H2o over our lawns, no more-no more…
xxxxxxxxx HOW ABOUT TODAY? xxxxxx
Two years ago, I went to my nerve-doctor (that my family doctor called him for my back-side). He got a picture of on the lowest back and there was a surgery nerve right inside buffer over part of this. It was large-size that nerve. But it was normal of size. My choice was a surgery, 5 mths ago. Mt pain was gone!
Yes, part of my rear-ends (eve that pain was gone) there’s not 100% of feeling. For me, it’s 75% of feeling them.
Thx,

I gave my experience falling a year or two ago. I still feel that probably cracked tail bone. It still is uncomfortable. I recently fell again tripping over an
Object at 5 o’clock in the morning (was dark). Coming out of my bathroom. This time I fell in the same area hard. I fractured two disks rubbing together bone against bone.
I’m due at my doctors office on the 4th of October.
It is very painful to walk or turn around in in bed. My lower back, my middle back , the back of my neck. I can’t twist because of the pain wich could be extcrutiating I don’t know what to do now .
Physical and occupational therapy works for a while but in two weeks I’m done per my insurance company.
It hurts everywhere. Don’t fracture anything in you middle to rear of your back. I have to wear a brace lasting 1 to 2. Years and it’s not comfortable
