My husband's dermatologist recommended medihoney which provided a barrier and took away the pain. My husband was allergic to citric acid, so we were limited in what we could use, but those medihoney patches were fabulous! I'd never heard of them, but when we mentioned them to home health, they had a box of them shipped to us.

1 ReactionMy husband suffers from a pressure wound on his backside, right in the crack between his cheeks. His dr. ordered a home health nurse who comes twice weekly. She orders all his supplies and Medicare pays for everything. Your dr. may be able to get you some help in your home.

1 ReactionMy husband fractured his back and spent a lot of time on his butt. 😁 he mentioned his butt hurt one day and when I looked he had a sore, after much research I found Terrasil on Amazon it was amazing healed in a few days although it was small but big enough to hurt. I also bought him a memory foam seat pillow on Amazon that helped tremendously also.

2 ReactionsI’ve used medihoney cream and SOLOSITE Gel Hydrogel Wound Gel for my dad. They both worked very well along with the mepilex border sacrum pads which come in different sizes - all can be ordered on Amazon.

2 Reactions@tellyatumara Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect! I’m glad you found this site. How did you start using Neem and then decide it was THE product? Can you maybe tell us what led you to making this decision?

1 ReactionI used a lotion or cream containing balsamic , like from the balsam plant when my husband had a pressure so bad you could see his tailbone.
Sleeping and staying on your side , propped up with pillows or a body pillow, is critical to alleviate the pressure. Also, I slipped an old fashioned Kotex sanitary napkin, the kind without adhesive, into his underdrawers. It kept the cream in place and also gave extra padding if he turned over during the night.

Oh mannnn am in the same sinking boat as you are. My sores are on both butt cheeks right where the butt bones are. I had a health decline with a bunch of things and had lost sixty pounds and almost all the loss was in my backside. Anyways, I had to be in a recliner for a period of time and thought I didn't have to worry as I am only 43. Wow, that came back and bot me it in the literal behind! Lol!!! So now I have three and have absolutely no insurance and I also live in a very rural community (village), many miles away. I can no longer drive. So no medical. My former profession was as a nurse: I am utilizing my knowledge to get through. Very very painful. I just realized that these discussions are from years ago and you probably didn't have access to them anymore... Ah well. 💙❤️🩵

1 ReactionMy Mom was in a nursing home and every day they made her sit in her wheelchair. I asked them why they didn't just keep her in bed and they said sitting in the wheelchair kept her from getting bed sores. The different position from night and day helped her greatly!!!!
I have cancer and the days after chemo I sat a lot on the sofa and got a bed sore. So I bought a butt ring (looks like a horseshoe and solid foam with a cover) , you can also buy an inflatable donut ring. I use my ring 2 days then switch back to no ring, etc. NO more bed sore!!
