@reginarhea Welcome to Connect. Have you discussed the fluid leak with your surgeon? It can be a common issue after surgery, and many surgeons will plain drain tubes to handle the fluid flow during healing. It makes me wonder if this is related to blood pressure.
Here’s an article I found about it while looking at the Cleveland clinic. I have degenerative disc disease, spinal canal stenosis, and a completely herniated disc at L4-5 and it was recommended for me
Hi @brycek112, I noticed that you wished to post a URL to an article with your post. You will be able to add URLs to your posts in a few days. There is a brief period where new members can't post links. We do this to deter spammers and keep the community safe.
@joycaseyrn Did you know that you have a short window to be able to edit your post after you make it? If you click on the 3 dots, you'll get a menu and can chose to edit your post. That gets you back to the window like when you were typing it. After awhile, you no longer get the menu choice to edit the post, but you can report the post and ask a moderator to correct it, by typing into a message box.
I didn't want to change the course of your original post. Will you be considering another procedure if you cannot do the TOPS procedure?

Thanks very helpful
Having had spinal fusion of L-4-5 & S-1 I would have opted for TOPS, as the limited mobility with a fusion is more than I realized.
I would like to know too !
I agree I just asked my surgeon if I’m a candidate for TOPS, I was told my facet joints worked bed to be in a healthier state then they are now..
Sorry that is supposed to read that my facet joints need to be in better condition for tops procedure.
