Before having a definitive CAT scan, I'm wondering if anyone experienced signs that one's lung cavities were improving?

I could only tell via ct scan. I formed a 10cm cavity within 30 days waiting to start treatment. After adding inhaled Arikayce to the big 3, it's only shrunk to a 5

@pattysyarns IF your cavity was large enough and located in a way that it was visible on an x-ray, the doctor may be able to see it there. Otherwise, there really is no way to tell what cavities and nodules are doing.

Are you scheduled for a CT soon?

Wouldn't it be lovely if we could get answers without all those pesky tests? I think about the "gizmos" we saw on Star Trek that could scan the whole body as you walked by...

I'm afraid here the answer is the snarky one my nurse daughters give to patients when presenting a painful wrist or ankle and asking, "Is it broken?" They usually say "I left my x-ray vision at the office."
