Anyone have metaplastic squamous cell carcinoma of the breast?
Has anyone been diagnosed with a very rare less than 1% womens breast cancer called Metaplastic Squamous Cells carcinoma?
I have a story to share, a positive one, if there is someone else who has or know someone who has this type of
cancer. I hope to find someone else to share about this. Thank You ladies! 🙏

Hi @sues2 I did capecitebine as a younger person and got the hand and foot syndrome bad enough to knock me down to a lower dose, 1 week on and 1 week off. Basically the skin on my hands and feet peeled very badly. I still have issues on my hands two years later.
Another consideration is cost - capecitebine is a pill chemo so usually it is billed on your prescription side. It was $1500 every other week for me to get it through CVS Specialty, since regular pharmacies won't carry it. Luckily for me, my husband is in the union and the plans fought to have it billed through the medical side like all my other chemos. Cost $8.
I am very glad I took it, anything to have more time with my baby, but the prescription side would have bankrupted us.
Un abrazo para vos y tu lucidez emocional.

Yes, I was diagnosed a year ago.
I welcome your positive story
Welcome, @cobleigh. May I ask what type of breast cancer you had? How are you doing now one year later?
Metaplastic carcinoma triple negative. Just completed one year of immunotherapy. I had 4 months of chemotherapy and will have reconstruction on November 5th. I am feeling well but given the nature of the cancer, would like to know more about research on this type of cancer and any diagnostic tests on the horizon such as circulating DNA.
Thank you for any guidance.
