Has anyone used the Marodyne device to stimulate bone growth?

You stand on it twice a day for 10 minutes. It gently vibrates and also helps with improving balance. The Marodyne is made in Germany and costs about $3,000. It has not been FDA approved but there are studies in progress.

Hi @rola,
Before I saw Margaret Martin's podcast on Whole Body Vibration, I purchased a high intensity vibration plate exerciser. I used it for about nine months. I wound up giving it away after hearing Margaret Martin's warnings about its dangers. Dr. Lucas mentions that's the type for building muscle.
There are other discussions of Marodyne on Connect. You may be able to find the posts by searching Marodyne. Good luck!

Waiting to see how it works on it's own.

Is that link available @babs10 ? I believe so many of us were waiting for the VIBMORE trial, hoping for the best!

Dr Beck had to deliver the hard facts that Marodyne LIV failed efficacy in bone building. It's a very difficult outcome to process for many who believed, without scientific or statistical evidence, that this particular VIB plate (costing over $3000.00) having been promoted by a research grant from NASA and NIH, to the tune of 7million FAILED! It very well may have a beneficial impact on what I mentioned earlier, but OP is too serious to just ignore this VIBMORE trial outcome.

It would seem that if they spent all the money to develop it AND it worked, NASA would have certainly used it. I'm seeing more comments indicating that it may not have actually been used by NASA astronauts after all.

This is why I was curious if anyone used it by itself. Some are reporting that they have used other things like supplements, medication and exercise in addition to the Marodyne, so they can't be certain if the machine worked or the supplements, medication and exercise worked.

the astranauts are also much younger and more apt to have all the hormones to make bone stronger when they get back to earth and exercise. As well, whether they use a vibe plate or not, they are probably also doing exercise like a military person: daily, heavy exercise, weight lifting, and being very active.

That's what I was thinking, that they are in a different physiological stage and are probably not losing as much bone as us. I read that they were not able to reverse the 1-2% bone loss with they experienced in space with the Macrodyne, so they didn't use it and considered medications instead.

I bought one of the first ones available in Canada and used it for two years, usually twice a day. No benefit at all. I lost the same amount of density during that time that would have been expected with no intervention, ie, approx 3% per year. It may be that it works for others and not for me. But I have noticed that on further questioning people who've had success with Marodyne also say they're using strontium or medication.

The marodyne works in conjunction with vitamin supplements and weight bearing exercise . It is not a one off thing you use to improve density.

FYI: Dr. Belinda Beck will touch on the results of the VIBMOR trial in her interview with Margie Bissinger on day 6 (1/20/2024) of the "More Natural Approaches to Osteoporosis & Bone Health" 7-day summit (https://morebonehealth.byhealthmeans.com/). Dr. Beck, Clint Rubin, et al conducted the recent randomized clinical trial to look at the effect of vibration on postmenopausal bone. The study compared groups using Marodyne vibration plate, high intensity resistance/impact exercise, and a combo of the two.

I would be very interested in the results of the Vibmor trial also. Does anyone have a link to them. I can find the original protocols for it.

@fluffbun while it certainly makes sense to do more than one thing for bone density the Marodyne was supposed to, hoped to, improve bone density measurably without other interventions. Exercise (as shown by LIFTMOR) and anabolic meds of course will do that by themselves, though some of the studies do make sure the participants are getting calcium and vitamin D.

Hi, yes I appreciate that. It's difficult to know how it helps/if it helps. I started HRT, walking every day and taking Vitamin D, K and magnesium and increased the calcium I ate at the same time as starting with the Marodyne. Who knows what has helped really?

Exactly, so which has helped? I hope it's not just a big con. It doe help with lymphatic drainage and balance though so I suppose that's a bonus.
