Was doing some research on Symptoms of Lyme Disease the other night and ran into similar symptoms of Mold Toxcity. Does anyone know anything about it?
Thanks,
Sundance

So sorry you are going through this. ask your lawyer. DIY tests
likely will not suffice for litigation purposes.

Happy to answer you with my experience. I had been dealing with digestive issues and my doctor was treating me for that as well as fatigue as I have Hashimoto’s. I was feeling better and better. Then my symptoms returned. I had been following my doctors plan carefully, so she suspected I may have exposure to mold. But there are numerous symptoms to mold toxicity- runny nose, coughing, itchy eyes or skin, brain fog, lung infections, shortness of breath, dry skin.
My doctor asked me if we had had water leaks in our home and we had 3 known leaks and one unknown we were not aware of. We did not notice any smells or see any mold anywhere. So I was tested but she also said we needed to have our home tested. Otherwise treatment would not be successful because I would continue to be exposed to mold spores.
What you smell under the sink is highly likely mold.
If I were you, I’d find someplace else to live if possible. Since you are renting, the owner may not be agreeable to doing anything to have the trailer tested and then have the trailer cleaned up. It can be expensive depending on how much of the trailer has mold growing in it.
And I recommend you get tested for mold toxicity and for other reasons that may be causing your symptoms that have increased over the 3 years.
I hope this info helps. Take care.

How were you tested for mold toxicity? Which doctor did it? I can’t seem to find anyone who can help.

I have been seeing a functional medicine doctor. These kinds of doctors look for the cause of symptoms. Prior doctors I had seen treated my symptoms with pharmaceuticals. When I went off, my symptoms returned.
Testing included a blood test and a urine test, checking for mycotoxins and antibodies.
You can look for a functional medicine doctor on ifm.org. You can search by city and state. Look at biography info as each doctor lists what they specialize in.
Feel free to get in touch with me if you have other questions.
Best to you. I understand.

Have you contacted the state department of health where you live?

Here is a Web Site that may offer resources near you:
https://getmoldtested.com/National_Directory.php
Finally, mail in tests are not likely to be of value in getting treated - here is information about the complexity of figuring out which mold exposure is causing your symptoms:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8982061/
Generally, where are you located?

You have no idea how long I’ve researched. I finally found something just today. That’s how I found this page.
I’m so toxic but doctors think I’m crazy. My test by them come back negative.
Everyone believes I’m crazy. I agree people would think I’m crazy. So now I don’t tell anyone nothing. I just live life like this. I have no means to pay for mold testing and it’s a 1966 trailer. Don’t look bad. But it’s killing me.
