Who is the BEST Ortho.Surgeon for TKR at Mayo in Minn.?
I know this is an unusual question for this site, but short of actually "hanging around" the Ortho.Dept how does one find this answer ? I would appreciate any suggestions.

@tallteri Great Question!!
It is so complex. I have had to make that decision at least 4 dozen times in my life. I truely have 100° confidence in the Mayo Clinic process. My most recent experience sealed my confidence. When you call and request a provider you are asked some vital questions as a prescreening process, along with your medical history. They match you with the most appropriate physician for you.
Example: Because my Hypertension is not a simple typical case they paired me with the most experience with Renin & Aldosterone causing Hypertension.
Here is a link that explains the process better. http://mayoclinichealthsystem.org/locations/la-crosse/for-patients/new-patients/selecting-provider
When it comes to Mayo Clinic, TRUST the process. It really does work!!
Good Luck,
Dawn 🙂
Both of my knees were replaced by Dr. Arlen Hanssen........I would start there.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Franklin Sim at Mayo Clinic in Rochester! He
replaced my right knee in 1999 and my left knee in 2001. Both knees are
still working perfectly and have full range of motion. His work on my knees
was wonderful!!!
For spinal surgery, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Michael Yasemzki at Mayo Clinic
in Rochester. He is absolutely brilliant, compassionate and amazing! Check
him out with an internet search....there is not a finer man in the
profession. His credentials speak for themselves; his surgical
accomplishments have given many people their lives back; and his compassion
is evident during his consultations. He is #1 on my list!
I have had Dr. Rafael Sierra as my dr.for 8 years and he saved my knife and my leg. Dr. Trousdale is also excellent
Lynette,Thank You so much for responding to my question !

I have been EXTREMELY pleased with my bilateral knee replacements that were done in 1999 and 2002 by Dr. Franklin Sim at Mayo in Rochester! My knees still work beautifully!
