female frequent urinary tract infections (UTIs)

Posted by ksey @ksey, Sep 16, 2016

My UTIs are becoming more and more frequent. I take AZO Maximum Strength, when I experience a burning sensation. After urine cultures are done indicating the presence of a bacterial infection, I am prescribed antibiotics. The problem is the infections are becoming more frequent and I find myself getting up at night to urinate at least three (3) times. Sound familiar?

Yes my hair has really been thinning but I didn’t connect the two as I have a couple other health problems that can cause it. However, I will keep taking it because the last UTI lasted a few months and put me in the hospital for a few days. I was very sick and on more than a couple Rx. I finally had to have intravenous antibiotics. I also have chronic kidney disease and UTIs can cause it to worsen.

Hi @ksey, here's some information about Hiprex, including side effects. http://www.webmd.com/drugs/2/drug-6821/hiprex-oral/details

What treatment did you and your urogynecologist decide upon? How are you tolerating it? Has the infection cleared up?

As a recent Hiprex patient I have noticed a significant increase in my uro-health.
