Lynparza: tell me the good bad and ugly
they want me to start on Lynparza... I do NOT like all the things I'm reading plus for people on Dilantin (like me) it can reduce the effectiveness of it..if you have first hand experience please share everything you can with me...the np today was saying they would have to monitor my blood very closely because my blood doesn't rebuild quickly.. couldn't get my last chemo today because platelets weren't high enough ( I got 2 bags of RBC on Saturday)

Well no chemo on Wed...my platelets weren't high enough so...we'll try again next week...
@mommacandy I haven't been prescribed Lynparza so I can't offer you my response or comments about that. I'm hoping someone else can do that. Have you tried searching for Lynparza in the Search box at the top of this page to see if anyone else has discussed it?
This has been a difficult road for you. You are being monitored very closely and I know you are in good hands with your cancer care team. You are following the treatment plan and are doing everything you can minimize unpleasant side effects. In fact, you are the model for acupuncture sessions and I often recommend that others here go to your posts on acupuncture.
I'ts a warm and pleasant day where I am. How is it where you are and can you sit outside and enjoy what we have left of the warm weather?
i actually went to my aunts on the potomoc on thurs and just traveled home today (6 hour trip) i had the most wonderful couple of days fishing...caught prob 50 small ones for bait for the crab pots and 5 big catfish...(smallest of those was about 5 pounds) and literally had a BLAST ....so i'm tired and sunburned but i really needed that since we got news on thurs that my best friend i've been taking care prob won't last until thanksgiving...they are changing his palliative care appts to telehealth because of the traveling...in fact his doc said he thinks possibly not even halloween...he went with me and my son and the rest of the family joined us on Friday so we had a wonderful time going out to eat, walking on the beach, riding around on the golf cart searching for yard sales, visiting, fishing, cousins coming by etc...
@mommacandy How wonderful that you had those days on the Potomac and caught so many bait fish for crab pots. I lived in Maryland for a short period of time many years ago and have fond memories there and especially of soft shell crabs.
I'm very sad about your friend and so glad he was able to go with you and your son. It sounds like this was just the thing that was needed.
YAY i won my battle with docs against the Lynparza (my seizure drug interferes with its effectiveness)....they are now looking at other "maintenance drugs...at the moment i think its zejula or something like that...haven't done much research on it yet but I DID MY LAST CHEMO YESTERDAY and I GOT TO RING THE BELL !!!!!! they agreed to do it even though my neutrophils were low...i just have to be EXTRA careful for the next couple of weeks of staying isolated etc and i THINK they are still going to do my CT scan next week...we'll see...but my CA125 is down to 12...my np popped in while getting the chemo and i asked her if the CA125 was back and she said "I don't think we did it since we did it last week"(it was 14) to which i replied "yes you did they drew a green lavender and gold tube" to which she laughed and said "you've been coming too much if you know what color tubes are drawn for what" but anyways i just wanted to share with yall since yall been so supportive...
