@dhozarksmo Congratulations on your successful 2nd kidney transplant or was it just the removal of the 1st old one? I too, had Dr Mikel Prieto for bilateral simultaneous nephrectomy and living donor transplant, and Dr El Ters, and Dr Bentall. I saw many other team members during 1st month follow up. Mayo transplant team is the best IMHO. If you need treatment or surgery in the future for another condition and have it at Mayo, the transplant team follows you as well. They are invested in keeping your new kidney functioning and keeping you well. 🙂

I had nephrectomy of first kidney transplanted in 2001. I got a rather rare infection in it and it had to go.
So glad I came here as numerous other specialists either. Said there was no problem or that they couldn't do anything for me. 2019 transplant is doing well! Hopefully I'll have some smooth sailing for a while.
