New antidepressant: Has anyone tried Auvelity?

Has anyone had success using Auvelity to treat anxiety? I have MDD, GAD, and I suffer from panic attacks. I was on Zoloft for 25 years, but it stopped working around the time of the pandemic. Since then, I’ve tried nearly every antidepressant and anti-psychotic available, but I’m treatment resistant — mostly because I can’t tolerate the side effects or the meds simply don’t work for me. The only thing that has helped somewhat is Mirtazapine (Remeron), but it only helps somewhat with the depression and doesn’t help with anxiety at all. My psychiatrist has suggested Auvelity; so, I just want to know if it has helped anyone with their anxiety.
Thanks so much!

Was not familiar with Auvelity so had to do some research on it. It's a combination of buproprion (Wellbutrin) and dextromethorphan (cough medication). I am really puzzled how that can be effective in the treatment of anxiety and/or depression!

Hi,
Like you, I have been on many different medications for depression and anxiety for over 25 years with some success, but they seemed to stop working. I was prescribed Auvelity last December after a very difficult time getting my insurance to cover it. I finally did and once I started it, I could feel it working after just a few days. I continued on it for a couple months and it was working well, but it made me kind of clumsy and was often dizzy. And if I had a couple drinks it got even worse. I’m in the wine business, so I felt it would be best to stop taking it. At 57 I’m not much of a drinker anymore, but I still need to taste what I sell and even after spitting out the wines, I still got dizzy.
