Menopause after going off hrt

Hi
So I had been on HR T for 10 years diagnosed with breast cancer last October. I am niw 66 .I was immediately taken off.H.R T. Not allowed to taper off it When my radiation was done , the fatigue hit but the fatigue was so bad. I then started having severe menopause.Symptoms anxiety depression hot flashes, feel like crying all the time. I had to change doctors because my g p would not put me on anything. I just started ciprolex. I do have some side effects.This is only day two starting on five milligrams for the first week. I just wondered if anyone else has had this experience. Done days I feel like I am losing my mind. I have never had such severe symptoms and I Hoping this medication will get me back to feeling like myself. I just want to be the person I was prior to radiation. I am 5 mths post op from treatment.

I’m so sorry sounds like you are having a miserable time I found acupuncture helped a little and I hope your new medication helps… all the very best

We do have menopause consults available at Mayo - at all of the sites. You can ask your team to enter an order for one.
