Could be they specifically tested you on a panel for metals and felt other panels unnecessary. Wow, I didn't even know someone could be allergic to gold! That was not on my patch test, but do know I have no issues with gold. So I guess no jewelry for you! You are so sensitive to metals I wouldn't even trust silver.

For me personally, silver is as bad or worse than nickel. Gold is fine and stainless etc. is OK. Whatever they put around an iPad is OK except for prolonged use. I didn't know this until vacation and between the plane, hotel, etc. my left hand used to hold the iPad, my fingers would get a rash and irritated/red. My wedding ring is hypoallergenic so that is fine. Funny though what triggers it and what doesn't.
