Indeterminate MRI Findings - Terrified.
I had one of those full body scans done at Prenovo. It recommended a follow up MRI of the abdomen because it saw a cyst on my pancreas. I had no symptoms other than some heartburn and elevated pancreatic enzymes back in July, which came back down (assumption was GERD); but I went ahead and had the follow up MRI last week and it found an "indeterminant nodular prominence at the pancreatic head which may be developmental variant vs post inflammatory change or developing lesion". I was able to get a GI to schedule an endoscopic ultrasound next week, but I'm all over the place emotionally. I still have no symptoms, other than what feels like muscle pain near my belly button (and I also have a small hernia there). And of course, because of all the anxiety, my stomach is upset (wasn't upset prior to the findings).
Anyway, I'm literally beside myself. I'm terrified and stumbled across this sight so I thought I'd participate. I'm terrified the EU will bring bad news (even though there is every possibility its something else). Just having a hard time not focusing on the worst.

Endoscopic Ultrasound this coming Friday.
Excellent!
Hi everyone. Just had my endoscopic ultrasound. Doctor said there is nothing in my Pancreas. No masses. No biopsy needed (did take a biopsy of esophagus but said it didn’t look troublesome - just probably from reflux. Will have MRI again in 3 months to be safe, but otherwise all is good.
Thanks for all the support. This group really helped me make it through the last two weeks. Ya’ll have been great. I pray you all have good journeys! And thank you all again so very much.
Glad it worked out for you.
I would generally stay on it and stay cautious.
My understanding is that diagnosis regarding the pancreas can be difficult. So, again, I would stay on it.
My wife's mom got pancreatic cancer. She had various kinds of symptoms for years and years, but never got diagnosed with the cancer. They just thought it was other things. She had surgery on her colon, a number of other things as well.

Can Pancreatic Cancer Be Prevented?
There is no sure way to prevent pancreatic cancer. But there are things you can do that might lower your risk.

Good for you! Best of luck going forward.
Thanks. Have another scan in 3 months as a precaution. So yes. Will be making sure it’s all good. Thanks.
I would ask to do the scan sooner. There was suspicion and 2 month later, had a follow up CT scan, and the mass grew to borderline resectable stage. ...
Last one in 3 days!
There was no mass whatsoever. It was developmental. Just the way my pancreas looked.
I have a recall into my provider about this, but medical care where I am is sketchy so I need help. Went in to get scan on kidney cysts-they were ok -but I have mild dilation of the pancreatic duct-saw online that 65% of those turn into cancer -how often should I be rescanned? I would prefer ultrasound since I have had so many CT scans, but I think their ultrasounds are not all that good here. I am panicking. I have never smoked (although my parents both did)-do not drink -I had a great uncle who was a health nut and got pancreatic cancer -his daughter who both drank and smoked got it too. What should I do??
