My husband has a large osteophyte( and others) that is causing choking and swallowing problems. Surgery has been recommended after trying numerous throat stretchings and Gerd medications. We are investigating surgical alternatives but know this is rare and risky. Does anyone have any experience with this ? Are there Surgeons that specialize in this? We live in the Boston area.

My husband has the same problem and because it is rare we don’t know where to go for the surgery. We were thinking of trying to get a consultation at Mass General Brigham- have you found anyone that is a specialist in this area? We found one neurosurgeon in Providence that has done 11.
