Posted by danny67 @danny5, Feb 5 1:10am

wondering if there is anybody with this problem. i get muscle cramps in both legs and feet. but they are more frequent and worse in my right leg. from just below the knee. and into the foot. always at night, when i'm in bed. bad enough that the right foot twitches also.
i hope this is in the correct discussion post.

Ha ha it's just a saying but just lifting your toes towards your knees really works for cramps and no offence taken!

in reply to @dimbulb I know you were just being comical which I appreciate. I was just being funny back to you. We all need a bit more laughter in our lives. Sometimes it helps relieve the pain for awhile. Laughter is the best medicine. I can bring my toes in the direction of my knees & nose. I will try it when I get the next cramp. If I stay hydrated I don't get bothered by those awful cramps. I did try my friends recipe for cramps again apparently it does work for me. Drink 1/4 to 1/2 cup pickle juice from your pickle jar in your frig.. If you like pickles. I like the Bread & Butter Pickles. Keep your funny personality & share it with others. Regards, boomarang

reply to @dimbulb I forgot about the salt. Thanks for the reminder. I only get hidden salt & that is probably to much. I do not use salt except to gargle for a sore throat. Which is seldom. Cannot remember the last one. Hydration seems to be the secret. Enjoy your evening. California time. boomarang

Cyclobenzaprine, for muscle cramps.

@thenazarenesshul I also use Cyclobenzaprine 5mg. 3 times per day as needed for muscle spasms, leg cramps, restless leg syndrome. Also known as Flexeril. It can cause drowsiness and/or dizziness. I only use at bedtime. It works well for me. I find if I stay well Hydrated during my day I don't seem to be bothered with leg problems. There are so many different things on the market for leg cramps. People just have to find the right one that works the best for them. Sometimes, I just take a 1/4 cup of pickle juice that even helps but there is salt in the juice incase you are watching your salt intake. Maybe, it's the salt that does the trick. I never thought about that. I don't use salt in cooking or on my food. So I get what they call hidden salt in some foods or canned goods. Leg cramps are extremely painful. I hope everyone finds their best medication that alleviates their leg pain. I am glad we found what works for us. Regards, boomarang

danny67@danny65 You did not mention seeing a doctor in regards to your problem. Obviously your legs/body are telling you something. Ever think about a warning sign? You could have numerous things going on. You need to have some tests done and go from there. I don't know your age but some older seniors have veins that seem to get thin & narrow & don't carry the blood flow that is necessary for the lower extremities as quickly as it should. Unfortunately, I am having that problem & it is causing some swelling in my feet especially in hot weather. Not prescribed any medication. Just exercise to keep the blood flowing. I will be curious to see what your test show. Assuming of course you are making a doctor appointment in the very near future. Best of health to you. Keep us posted. We all have interests in one another here on postings. It's a great group of people.
