Continously taking the pill = Weight gain?
Been on Yaz for about 15 years. Never any issues. Suddenly about 1,5 years ago I started getting very depressed before, during and after my period (the hormone free pills). I was also sweating a lot.
My gynecologist suggested I’d start taking the pill continuously, meaning, I skip the hormone free week and start straight with a new map of hormonal pills. She said by doing this the symptoms should go away, since I never bleed. She was right.
However, it’s been a year now and I’ve gained SO much weight. Especially my belly is huge.
Has anyone else experienced this when taking the pill continuously? My doctor said it could happen but didn’t seem to know why or what to do about it.
Please note that this is not about gaining weight from the pill in general. I know many do. But my weight stayed same for 15 years until I stopped skipping the hormone free weeks. Just curious if it’s common and if there’s any way around it?
I really don’t want to go back to bleeding once a month and feeling terrible, but I also don’t want to get huge. D=

I would get a second & maybe even a third opinion.
Are you old enough to have begun menopause?

Not sure, I’m turning 40 this year…
Maybe OBGYN would be a good place to start as some women go
thru menopause earlier.
Also Weight Watcher's can be fun, healthy,
and effective, so you might see where there is a meeting near you
& try it. Kayr
I’m already on a healthy diet so I’m pretty sure this has to do with me changing how I take the pill. Thank you so much for your input!
