Biopsy shows cirrhosis stage 4, US shows hepatosplenomegaly, liver measure 29 cm and spleen 15 cm, and portal hypertension at 1.2 Last Meld score was an 11. Not on list, want to be. The doctors where i live have no idea what caused this. I need help.

Welcome, @mariah1203. @kanaazpereira, the moderator of this group, usually does the first welcome, but I wanted to jump in to continue our conversation that we started on Mayo Clinic Facebook page. I'm glad you joined Connect where you'll meet people in similar situations like @mollyb1968 @rosemarya @v1crew @hurtle12 @dianne1 @davidgenebarnes and others.

You may wish to also pop over to the Transplants group https://connect.mayoclinic.org/group/transplants/ where there are a couple of discussion about getting listed:
- How do I get listed for a transplant https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/how-do-i-get-listed-for-a-transplant/
- getting listed https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/getting-listed/

You mentioned that you'd like to talk to someone at Mayo. Here are the contact number for all 3 locations http://mayocl.in/1mtmR63

@mariah1203, I do not know what those numbers are about. That is for the doctors to figure out. But I am wondering this - Why did you get a biopsy and who ordered it, or is following your medical care? You need to consult with a gastroenterologist (GI) because he/she can put these numbers in perspective for you. If there is not a GI where you live, then it would really be worth traveling to see one.
When I was experiencing some 'crazy' liver numbers early in my disease, my primary care physician referred me to a gastroenterologist. My GI was the one who took care of my liver treatment up until I needed referral to transplant dept. in my region.
It took a while for the GI to diagnose my liver disease. So it might take a while for you, too.
Let me know if there is anything I can (try) to help you with.
Rosemary

thank you

Have you talked to Mayo Clinic about an appointment? @colleenyoung has provided some excellent links and contact information.
@mariah1203 we are here to share our experience and to support. I, myself, do not believe this is the forum for a funding source.
Please keep coming here with questions relating to your health. I'm looking forward to hearing about your appointment and eventually a diagnosis that will lead to some answers.
Rosemary

I requested a biopsy when my liver became 4 times the size of a normal one and I could no longer deal with the pain and doctors telling me it was because drank alcohol. I knew it wasn't. Biopsy provided me with the proof I needed.

It would be my dream come true to be seen by a hepatologist at Mayo in Rochester. I don't not have any money to come to Mayo. They don't take my insurance. I have a diagnosis but no answers why or solutions on how to treat it.

I am not trying to use this as a "money-maker" I wish everyone wouldnt automatically assume that. That is just a place where my story is told from beginning of diagnosis to current and its easier than typing it all out again. Can you understand that? It just takes time to read my updates and story but its all there.

Hello @mariah1203. I removed the link for your gofundme page according to our community guidelines. If you would like to share your story, might I suggest copying & pasting it in to this discussion? Or, if you have a blog, please feel free to share the link to that in the Connect community as well.

why do people automatically assume i joined just to make money? its simply a link that tells what's wrong with my health so i don't have to type it all out and explain it over again on here. does that not make sense to you ? follow your guidelines if you have to but from what i've experienced this group is was to under-knowledged for me to be able to communicate with. if you are an admin on a cirrhosis site you should know what bun and creatinine are . seriously. But thanks for letting me know you deleted it. its simple. people are so jealous. no want truly wants to see anyone else get money or do better. they're jealous. and no hard feelings but I'm 29 and dying of liver disease. what's wrong with trying to better myself and save my own life potentially? i have a 7 year old. Sleep well best of wishes. thanks!

how do you not know what those numbers are about? i dont understand what this site is actually for?
