Has anyone had weight gain taking Forteo ? . Is Tymlos better than Forteo not to cause weight gain? Please help ! gaining this weight is making me depressed .
Yes I have had weight gain in my belly. I had a hard time with the extra weight too, but since that seems to be my only side effect (after a month of adjustment to the drug), I feel the benefit outweighs the gain (no pun intended)!!! I sure hope I lose it after my 24 month course is over.
I finished up a year ago. No dizziness. Not really any notable side effects. I had a of couple 1 day bone pains in the first two weeks and nothing after that.
The drop in blood pressure is within seconds of the injection. Dizziness will lessen gradually over the next four hours as the blood pressure returns to normal. Being well hydrated will lessen the effect as will salt intake.
Theoretically caffiene will lessen the effect as it causes vasoconstriction.
Forteo and Ibuprofen:
I'm only on day #2 of Forteo, injecting before bed, experiencing mild headaches, body aches. I have been taking Tylenol, but wondered if Ibuprofen is contraindicated while on Forteo?
My routine has been alternating days of 500mg Tylenol and 400mg Ibuprofen before bed to help with osteoarthritis and healing of bone fractures in lumbar spine.

there isn't a known contraindication for taking Forteo with either NSAiD
Because either can raise blood pressure slightly, while Forteo lowers blood pressure, you might have a good combination.
All these medication can negatively affect the kidneys. Forteo with kidney stones. You probably already have a good grasp on the health issues with long term anti-inflamatory use.
It will be helpful to see if you feel better every other day. Keep us (as well as your md) posted.
