Lichen Sclerosus: Any other women dealing with this disease?

Posted by Kitten92 @kitten92, May 22, 2017

Is anyone out there dealing with this disease? I am currently using a compound ointment that my oncologist prescribed but I'm looking for possible lazer treatments or anything else that might now be available.

Thank you for the information. I have been having trouble swallowing. Food or water will go half way down and then stop. Pain is bad. It will slowly relax and go down. They talked about it.
🥰 for the information.

There are other reasons for that type of proble. My family has four generations of it. My brother has had his esophagus stretched a few times.
Another reason is achalasia

Hello Everyone,

This is my first time posting. I have had Lichen Sclerosis of the genitals for 16 yrs. I tried all the creams and ointments prescribed to me, but it seemed hopeless. My Aunt uses herbal medicines and suggested I try Neem Oil mixed with Green Tree Extract, after a week of using this It’s went away! I was very surprised, so the net time I had a flare, I used this same treatment and after a few days it was gone again. Over the years this has worked for me. This is my experience, please consult your doctor before trying this. I also have Morphia with Lichen Sclerosis and this treatment has slowed down the skin changes I have experienced. Don’t lose faith.
I hope this helps someone!

Hi,

I have LS for the past 11yrs and I have tried everything including alternative holistic creams, and homeopathy which has helped a bit, however, once the dose of homeopathy has subsided it reoccurs, and was very interested to read your method of Neem Oil mixed with Green Tree extract.
Would you mind letting me how you mixed them both and in what quantities, and how you applied the mixture. For example did you apply in the mornings or evenings, as I find my LS becomes more difficult to cope with in the evening and night time. I would really appreciate your comments. Thank you

Thanks for connecting, I'm sorry you're struggling with LS.

After my shower, before bed, I put equal parts of neem oil and green tea extract in the palm of my hand and mix it with my finger. Then apply it to my vaginal area where affected. I wear cotton underwear at night. Neem oil has a strong smell of onion, it's also hard to get it out of fabric, so that keeps it from getting on bed sheets. Use a few pairs of underwear, so you can wash and reuse for this treatment.

I hope this helps you!

Thank you for letting me know how you apply it I really appreciate it. I shall try and get some Neem Oil and green tea extract from the Health shop when I go shopping on Tuesday. Did you continue with this routine for long? before the condition improved or disappeared?

Oh yes!
I use it for 3 to 5 days then wait a few days and see if i need more treatment. I’ve used it on and off for a couple of weeks at a time…it really has helped to calm the areas and stop irritation, leading to fewer flare ups over the years. I may get it once every few years, now. I really hope it helps you! Good luck.

Hi,

A couple of questions popped into my mind last night and wondered if you use green tea (bags) and infuse for 5 mins, let it cool and use some of this to mix with the Neem Oil? or do you use green tea extract powder? Also in the morning do you shower off the neem oil & green tea that you applied the night before, or do you leave it and shower that evening and reapply ? Sorry for all the questions but I find the 'routine' the most important in anything I have tried so far. Thanks again for your support, I really appreciate it.

I just ran across a fascinating article on fat grafting for LS on the NIH website published by PubMed. It’s so technical but you can read between the lines to get the gist of the discussion. Apparently, the inflammation causes fibrosis (scarring) which perpetuates the symptoms. Fat grafts help prevent this scarring in the dermis. I’m not sure who does this procedure, how done, or if it’s only clinical trials but it may be worth researching. and asking your doctor about. I do hope you all with LS get relief!

Hi, a gyne once prescribed Neem, but the pharmacy filled it with “Balsam Peru & Castor Oil”. I assumed it was a Generic? Where do you get Neem Oil, maybe a Health Store? This was for the fragile skin tears, which later evolved to Lichen Sclerosis of the entire labia to anal area; so next Rx was Clobetasol oint. I still use the first one for recurring skin tears. (I’m fearful of the L.S. possibly recurring too, as I’ve read - or worse would be possible ca).

I’m so sorry you’re suffering with LS… Need Oil is different than Balsam Peru, Castor Oil. I use a USDA/Organic Cold Pressed Pure Neem Oil I bought on Amazon. You should be able to find it or order it at a Health Store.
I have used Clobetasol Propionate Ointment and Cream but it wasn’t very helpful. But everyone is different and responds differently to treatments. I sincerely hope you can find Neem Oil and that the mixture with Green Tea Extract will help you.
