I was told to have a surgery called
PARTIAL FACETECTOMY FORAMINOTOMY
for SCIATICA pain and numbness in the left leg and foot, (actually both legs) Has anyone had this? It is for a pinched nerve from degenerative disc at L5 - SI.

Surgery only as a last resort!

@kathymj, I'm not sure if you have heard about Myofascial Release Therapy (MFR) but it might be worth checking into to see if it might help. There is another discussion on MFR.

I had a “lumbar fusion L3-L5”.
Sciatic pain was unbearable and I walked like an 80 year old man. I met a man who said “I made him hurt when I walked”.
The year was 2011 when I had my procedure and I just turned 82 this November 2025. The only regret I have is that I never finished the rehab by walking a mile. I only walked 1/4 of a mile.
