Sensitive guts
Does anyone have a sensitive gut like me? Sometimes I eat random stuff and have a diarrhea. I am intolerant to wheat and lactose so I am sure if I eat anything containing these two ingredients, I will have bloating or gas or have to go to bathroom. But sometimes after I eat vegetable juice, I still feel bloating or have diarrhea. So I am curious anyone has similar situation and how to deal with it.
Thanks for any input.

Possibly caused by H. pylori?
If so, it can be controlled by antibiotics.
Stomach disease is mostly cured by self -care. As long as you eat the right food ( balanced, no allergen, clean and easily digestible) , eat at a regular schedule, it will be cured gradually.
I found my stomach discomfort because I always drank cold water in the morning. After I stopped drinking cold water in an empty stomach, my stomachache went away. You can also eat some digestive enzymes, which can help digestion. But try not to eat or drink anything in an empty stomach.
To me, estradiol, milk products and wheat products are all the contributing factors to IBS.

I jumped in on this thread due to my recent symptoms. I normally post on the Constipation threads, since I’ve had chronic constipation since the summer of 2022, except it left a few weeks ago, as I reported on the constipation thread. I had tried almost everything to go….diet, water, prescription pills, Metamucil, Miralax, etc. I did go with daily Miralax, but was like jello. Ugh….so, I was delighted when after being on Vitamin B12, per my Neurologist’s instruction, the constipation left and my BMs were normal again. UNTIL this past Sunday when I had diarrhea twice in one day. Then normal….then loose BM last night! Granted, I have been very heavy on salads lately. Almost daily I have a large plate of lettuce, tomato, apples, cucumbers, blueberries, shredded carrots and beets. Then more cooked veggies ( broccoli and cauliflower) at dinner. I don’t eat much wheat. I’ve had extensive autoimmune tests and am cleared. Negative for celiac. I do have type 1 diabetes.
Think I’ll ease up on the raw veggies and see how that works. I’ve also read that high doses of B12 can cause diarrhea. I have to stay on that though due to deficiency. Hmmm….hope it’s not that.
Congratulations on your cleared auto immune tests! That is great! Did you ever test any food intolerance? I was drinking a lot of vegetable juice but I find I am not tolerant to beets!
Maybe some of the vegetables in salad makes you intolerant? If I eat something I am not intolerant, I will have diarrhea too!
You did something so right so you are cleared of auto immune test, that is fabulous!!
By the way, my B12 level is normal too based on my test in July. But I will keep following it up.
Thanks! I did have an abnormal ANA of Titer 1:160, and but my rheumatologist thinks it’s due to my Type 1 diabetes. Overall, things are good in that respect. Still dealing with the deficiency and post covid syndrome. But, the constipation predates the later. I hope I really am done with digestive issues. I’m so tired of dealing with it.
Thanks you too@celia16! I never eat raw vegetables in my life. I think I did many things wrong. I don't eat enough fruit, I don't eat enough vegetables and I only eat cooked vegetables. I always eat a lot of white rice. I am gluten intolerant but I still eat it. OMG, I followed a wrong diet for many years. Maybe it is time to change!
I met with a nutritionist at my endocrinologist’s office. We discussed diet, calories, meal plans, etc. I found her quite helpful and I eat a tight diet. Before the B12, salads didn’t help my constipation. So…I’m wondering why my stomach is being so sensitive now. I love my fruits and veggies, so I hate to lose those.
It’s never too late to incorporate good nutrition, imo. I feel much better than I did before starting my fitness journey.
After being sensitive to dairy products for 4 months, I suddenly can have milk based yogurt. Maybe my sensitivity to dairy is from my sex hormone estradiol I took since June 20 but stopped after 1.5 months. I do not have IBS symptoms any more as of now. I read one article, estradio may cause IBS symptoms. Or maybe I benefit from the probiotics I took.
Hi everyone. I’m brand new here (or any support group for that matter). I’ve had IBS for forever, starting around 1977. It wasn’t even called IBS when I got diagnosed, it’s been so long. 😏 It changes directions from C to D to both or something in between from time to time over the years. So it’s not a problem easy to get used to. The new antibiotic worked nicely, but as I was warned, it only provides a break (approximately one year) which was still nice. I think the time is about up. Lately, I’m feeling like I spend way too much time going to and from the bathroom no matter what the results are. So, “Here we go again.” Thanks for allowing me to vent.
