Restoril
I just completed my tapering of Ativan that I had been taking for 6 years.
Sleeping maybe 2-3 hours a night and very anxious.
Dr prescribed Hydroxyzine which increased anxiety and did nothing to help with sleep.
Now Dr is suggesting Restoril. I am hesitant to try another’drug’
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Restoril (or Temazepam) is a benzo which can affect your memory. Depending on your age, the older you are the worse it can affect your cognition. What dosage is your doctor recommending? It goes from 30 mg to 7.5 mg.
15 mg. And I am 82
Now my pcp is suggesting Seroquel

I am 74, and have tried so many medications to help with sleep. Doctor just prescribed Mirtazapine, but after reading reviews from people discontinuing it I am afraid to try it.
I did try Restoril one night and when I woke up the next morning I felt as if I had been put to sleep like when you have a colonoscopy. I did not wake up at all. I felt like I was in too deep a sleep!!.
It has worked great for me . I am 57 . Scared of memory issues but desperate for sleep . I suffer from
Anxiety and Insomnia.

I taken Zolpidem 5mg. For 20 years. Now my insurance will only permit me to have them three months per year. I am experimenting with herbs. I tried Doxepin 10mg. I didn't like it made me want to sleep all day.
It worked for me along with sertraline
