Housing Options Mayo Jax
I am starting my CAR-T Cell treatment in the next few month (Mayo Jacksonville) and is looking for a place to stay while there for roughly 3 months. I will have family from South Africa be here as my caregivers and would prefer something close by and reasonably priced. Any help would be so appreciated!

Hi @jpmalherbe, like @roch, I’m not familiar with Jacksonville lodging either. However there are a few recent bone marrow transplant patients who may be able to give a few suggestions for you, your caregiver and family members.
I’m going to tag @tkidd51 @avaleir and @caregiverx2 in hopes that they may have ideas for you.
We also have quite a few members who have gone through CAR- T therapy.

What condition led you to requiring CAR-T?
@jpmalherbe
I had a bone marrow biopsy at Mayo in Jacksonville, Florida. I went through Corporate Suite Shoppe for my lodging. They helped me find an apartment with short term rental and month to month lease. My apartment was about 10 minutes from the hospital. Please let me know if you can’t find their phone number or if you need any more information. Lots of prayers and hugs to you.
Another suggestion, check with your health insurance company and see if they have a lodging policy for treatments. I didn’t know to look at my health insurance until the social worker found the policy through my insurance. It helped pay for the 3 months I was there. I had to pay upfront but the insurance company reimbursed me.
Hello, we’ve travelled 3 hour each trip. For short term travel, we stayed
at the Holiday inn near Mayo. For long term it’s better to get your BMT
Coordinator to assist with housing referrals.
