Off Prednisone but Residual Stiffness

I am wondering why you limit Tylenol to one pill a day. I take 1000 mg 3X/d and need it all.

Uveitis can be caused by an infection but my eye never had an infection. My uveitis was always the autoimmune type of uveitis. My immune system would start attacking my eye for no reason. and almost exclusively ... just my left eye. My ophthalmologist was impressed with how well I could detect the onset of uveitis because he said some people can't feel anything until it is too late. Yes, I would agree uveitis is painful except now the entire left side of my face including my left eye has no normal sensation at all. That was a post-op complication from trigeminal neuralgia.

I used to know exactly when uveitis was flaring except when it happened overnight in my sleep. I would wake up in the morning and couldn't see with my left eye. It wasn't like I was blind but my vision in my left would be extremely foggy. Sometimes I would be unable to see any fingers when they were held inches from my left eye. I would sometimes tell my ophthalmologist that I was blind in my left eye because I couldn't see anything. My ophthalmologist would shine a bright pen light directly into my left eye. When I said I could see some light, my ophthalmologist would reassure me that I wasn't blind ... yet.

Most of the time my uveitis never progressed that far. I did have a few cases of panuveitis when my ophthalmologist would hand me 100 mg of prednisone to take orally and said no limit to the number of steroid eye drops per day.

It causes inflammation throughout the uveal tract, which includes the iris, ciliary body, and choroid, as well as the retina, lens, optic nerve, and vitreous. This inflammation can lead to visual impairment, ocular discomfort, and pain."

It was weird how uveitis almost never happened in my right eye except for a couple of mild flares.

I have IBS. Too much Tylenol causes me stomach upset. My PMR is over. I am plagued basically now with leg stiffness.

I have the same thing. It appears I have lumbar stenosis, and I’m being treated for it, but I believe it all became worse with PMR. the stenosis has been there for years and never caused a problem. But now I’m in constant pain. I’m not taking prednisone any longer, but I may have to go back to it if the spine treatments do not help.

I do find that I can tolerate my pain better if I take my pain meds and move around more, as long as I don’t overdo it! Especially when I reach for things in the supermarket—it really kills my neck and shoulders! It’s when I’m in bed at night that I start having issues with pain and my restless leg syndrome—-a condition my sister, niece, daughter and I got from my mom!! I have side effects from gabapentin so I had to stop taking this for my RLS! I do take my pain medication at bedtime and it helps for a few hours…but the RLS is the main reason I don’t always sleep well. ☹️
