Neuropathy Supplements - are they for all types of neuropathy?
Are all neuropathy supplements designed to treat all types of neuropathy or are certain supplements designed for certain types of neuropathies?

Hello @oneyedward, You will notice that we added to your discussion title to better describe what your discussion question is about. It's a great question. From what I've read if you have a nutritional deficiency that is causing your neuropathy, then maybe a specific vitamin may be all that is needed to provide some relief. Here a few references while you wait for others to respond.

1 ReactionYes, some of the supplements are for various types of neuropathy. Also, sometimes, it's really for polyneuropathy, which is neuropathy in multiple places. The kind of neuropathy can matter. Diabetic neuropathy commonly means pain in their feet. But it could be tingling of hands, with or without it being diabetic type. It would be best if you did not have to figure out what kinds you are dealing with. Some joint issues commonly come with neuropathies. Like numb spots. Spinal problems can cause someone to have pain just about everywhere or only down one leg. It varies greatly.

1 ReactionAre there supplements out there that are proven to make a difference for more than 50%?
of the people taking it?
Yes, try alpha Lipoic acid at nature store at 600 mg once a day. Owner takes it and says it works. Google it - I see improvement in just a week. Not taking gabapentin or Lyrica - stupid drugs that make you so fatigued at the lowest dose I couldn't walk to my car. No way jose. I also take a medical grade complex B that I bought at the acupuncture dr which I do too. Also take a magnesium as well. What makes me mad is my acupuncturist said she gives it to all her diabetic patients with the numbness, pins and needles etc. I don't have diabetes - but she could have told me about it - I found out about it on this website. Boy, everything is about making money. I am sure what she does helps but I also exercise 30 minutes a day. It helps - all of it. Good luck and let me know if you take that supplement - don't buy it on amazon. Go to a nature store but get Source Naturals brand.

One more thing - it works better if you take it on an empty stomach in the morning and wait an hour before eating or taking anything as it gets into your system better he told me.
