Incontinence+syncope+Sjogren's=Related??

Posted by mrsjb @mrsjb, Aug 20 9:30am

I'm a 47 yr old female diagnosed with Sjogren's 2 yrs ago with my only symptoms contributed to SS being dry mouth & dry eyes.
In the last week I've had a couple episodes that now have me wondering if they are related to Sjogren's.
One night I woke up and had wet the bed! I don't have issues with my bladder.
4 days later I passed out cold, took an ambulance ride to the ER where all their tests were normal. But to my surprise the ER Dr seemed to know about Sjogren's, that my symptoms could be related and told me that I need to call my rheumatologist.

Has anyone else had these experiences?

Thank you for the good advice. I too look up each new drug on Drugs.com. Some of my fainting occurred 4 hours after I injected the generic of Forteo, Teriparitide. Since I quit it I read it can cause fainting in certain people and I have not fainted again. I did think about heart issues but passed two in depth physicals ten months apart before I had two recent joint replacements. We have advocate for ourselves and read to educate ourselves. Best wishes.

@queenie2030 I’m so glad that you were able to figure this all out! High five!! I have a copy of Drugs.com on my ipad and it keeps track of some things for me. Good job!

I’m just now having the same symptoms as you. I’ve had Sjogrens for years and maybe once had a kind of wee in the night. But last week I went to a doctor that about a 30 minute drive away. Earlier that day I had some urgent urination problems. When I left the doctor I didn’t need to go. All of a sudden I knew I had to find a place urgently because I could not get home without an accident. I found a hotel fast and barely made it. Something is drastically changing. RA started right up also. Isn’t life lovely? I have an outstanding rheumatologist. The best. I can go see him if I need to. God bless you.
